When it comes to shipping there are a few points customers should note prior to shipping their module to us:
1. Failing to properly provide enough packing material for your module can lead to modules being damaged beyond repair. None of our repair services cover the costs of damages of not properly packaging your modules and as a result you can expect additional parts costs should you package your modules poorly enough that they are damaged in freight.
2. When it comes to packing material for keeping your modules safe we recommend bubble wrap with a 0.5 inch or greater bubble size as our testing has shown it does perform best at keeping modules safe. Packing peanuts while a very safe material are one of the largest pains to deal with for our shipping department.
3. Utilizing packing materials such as old shirts or rags will result in us disposing of said materials. They're not only not recommended as they hardly provide protection, but quite honestly they can be a source of dirt, oils and other contaminants that you don't want to be exposing your modules to.
4. Kelowna Instruments reserves the right to always replace the shipping materials you've sent your module in. Sending in undersized packaging that doesn't leave enough space will end up in us providing one of our boxes.
5. If for any reason your packaging needs to be replaced an there are additional freight costs that come from sending the module in a correctly sized package, Kelowna Instruments will not be held responsible for these costs.
6. If your module is packaged poorly when you send it to us and the module is damaged in shipping, Kelowna Instruments will be not be involved in helping you to dispute that with the freight carrier beyond providing photos of the module to you.
7. The single largest cause of all lost freight that we've experienced is customers only relying on the waybill being attached to a package to state where it's going. Providing a secondary piece of paper or label on a box that states it's destination can dramatically help to reduce the likelihood of your package being misplaced in shipping.
8. We do not have overnight drop off locations. We would not recommend you drop off a module overnight at our facilities and accept no responsibility for that. We also will not leave a module outside for you to pickup outside of business hours.
